Shay Standish is an educator and school leader with 25 years in education. She has served as a classroom teacher, Student Work Study Teacher, Special Education Resource Teacher, Vice-Principal, and Principal across elementary and secondary settings, and she has led board and ministry initiatives focused on student achievement, inclusive education, mathematics, technology integration, and professional learning.

Her work has shaped system-wide programming in Growth Mindset, Closing the Gap mathematics, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Christian Meditation, and professional learning communities built to lift achievement and well-being for staff and students alike. She holds a Master of Education in Professional Leadership from Western University, a Bachelor of Education from Brock University, and an Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University. She is an Ontario Certified Teacher with specialist qualifications in Special Education, Religious Education, and school leadership through the Principal's Qualification Program.

Outside of work, Shay is a wife and mother of three teenagers, and caretaker of what she affectionately calls "a zoo of my own creation," three cats and a dog. Shay and her brother Beau built The Teaching Vault from that same shared passion for education. Every resource reflects a principal's eye for what teachers actually need in the classroom. Whether in the classroom, the school community, or at home, her greatest joy comes from helping others grow, succeed, and discover their unique gifts.
